Virtual Net Metering (VNM) is a billing and energy management system that allows multiple electricity consumers to share the benefits of a single solar or renewable energy installation, even if the system is not physically located at their individual premises.
In VNM, the energy generated by a solar plant is credited to multiple accounts based on predefined shares. Consumers can offset their electricity consumption with these credits, reducing their overall electricity bills. VNM is especially useful for residential complexes, commercial parks, and industries where rooftop space may be limited, enabling shared renewable energy access while promoting efficient and cost-effective clean energy usage.
